Help with Sending file to server using ftp task

Doe anyone know how to do this. I keep getting an error remote path missing "/" but it doesn't contain a "/".

Mike

If you could give more detail, that would help.|||

I'm trying to connect to a FTP server running on z/OS and has MvS operating system. The remoter parameters In the FTP task editor in ssis calls for a "/" at the beginning of the remote path but the remote path I am uploading to starts out with a single quote and not a forward slash. Is there a way around this?

thanks,

Mike

|||Did you try putting a "/" in front?|||

I figured it out using a ftp script.

|||That's what I have had to resort to at times also. Some of the FTP task functionality just doesn't seem to function like it should.

Help with Remote Connection

I am attempting to connect to SQL 2005 server. The server and the VS 2005 are on the same computer. I have configured the db so it uses the security for asp. The log in section connects fine and checks for the user. I have combined the old db with the new ASP security. If the user is not found then I open a connection using the open command and check for the user in the old part of the db. The is where I have trouble. I get the message below that the server connect but then won't allow remote connections. I have check the setting and the allow remote connections is checked. Thank in advance if anyone can help.

Endeavor

A connection was successfully established with the server, but then an error occurred during the pre-login handshake. When connecting to SQL Server 2005, this failure may be caused by the fact that under the default settings SQL Server does not allow remote connections. (provider: Named Pipes Provider, error: 0 - No process is on the other end of the pipe.)

The error came from Named Pipes Provider. Please check the server network protocols to maks sure Named Pipes is enabled. You can check this in 'Configuration Tools'->'SQL Server Configuration Manager'->'SQL Server 2005 Network Configuration'.

You'd better also configure remote connections to use both TCP/IP and Named pipes in 'SQL Server 2005 Surface Area Configuration'.

thanks for your response, I went throught a configured like you said, the named pipes were disabled in the configuration manager but the other were correct in the surface area config. But I am still getting the same error message when it get to the trying to open a connection useing the open command. Have you got any other ideas I can try to get it to work.

help with pull subscription

Hello,
I am trying to connect a remote sql box to another sql box using pull
subscription. I have the publisher registered in EM. When I try and create a
pull subscription it cannot find the publication unless anonymous
subscribers is on. Did I miss setting a password somewhere? Thanks in
advance.
Jake
Paul,
Sorry I read the instructions wrong. I changed to the SQL server
authentication putting in the replicationserver user and it's password. I
still however do not see the publication on the subscriber via the GUI
unless I mark the publication to allow anonymous. Any ideas?
1. In SQL Enterprise Manager from the Publisher, on the Tools menu, point to
Replication, and then click Configure Publishing, Subscribers, and
Distribution.
Note Because the Subscriber is not configured for the distributor, the
Configure Publishing, Subscribers, and Distribution options are not
available for the Subscriber.
2. Click the Publishers tab.
3. Click the Publisher, and then click the Properties (...) button.
4. Click the General tab, click Using SQL server authentication of this
account to specify that the replication agents use SQL Server
Authentication, and then specify an account that has sufficient permissions
in the publishing database.
